thanks anna! that gave me a good little laugh and i needed a laugh today. i don’t think i soaked up quite enough of that beautiful sunshine yet….i’ll continue soaking it up tomorrow! have a great weekend. (maybe santa will bring you a camera):)

I have Canon. I used to have Sony. Canon is better, there is no discussion. But one month after I got my Canon, I wanted a better one, because, there are just some macros, or some zooms that you can (or you think that you can) do better, if you just had a better camera… it’s never-ending story for me…

See, even in a difficult situation, you are still counting your blessings. Which is a really, really, good thing.

Canon, all the way, I am now committed to the brand. And it is wonderful. I love my baby.

I am still a Nikon girl at heart, and I will always think fondly of my first “true love, Nikon”. But alas……he had too many expensive tastes for our relationship to flourish.

So Canon it is.

I have a love for cameras! I have/had three brands of digitals: Sony (4), Canon (3), & Panasonic (1), all are good. I say go with what you are comfortable with and what you love using! The best thing is to know your camera and how to use it, not necessarily the brand. I think I’d have to go without food or something, I’d just not be able to be without a camera! Good for you for being patient!

I want a new camera. Mine can only be used in auto-mode. But it still takes pictures and like you, I remind myself that my blog is my hobby, I can wait. Who needs instant gratification, anyway? Highly, highly over-rated. I think I’ll spend the dark, cold winter days researching all the cameras and then get one in the spring, when the flowers start to bloom again.

Anna … have you never checked out an Olympus ? My last two cameras have been Olympus and I have to say it is a favorite of mine .. just for curiosity, check some of the Olympus out, OK ? LOL
Joy … I do lust for plants and cameras .. weird combination but that is what a gardener/blogger lusts for right ??

I use a Sony but Kodak has one of the best lenses.

I am having the camera debate right now myself. Trying to decide on which one. So far about 10 photographers have told me Canon…so looks like I am leaning that way!
One would have to jump up right now and bite me in the butt to change my mind. I had an awful bout of separation anxiety tonight from my Kodak. I could count on old faithful. I had a good many people tell me Canon too but then they told me how complicated they were.

She’s a beauty for sure Anna, and pairs nicely with the hydrangea.

Wish they were more hardy in these parts. I’ve tried several in previous gardens and they’ve never proved to be very long lived. One or two seasons is about all they can take around here. I see buddleias for sale all the time, but only rarely in gardens. A lot of us around here have tried them several times and eventually give up on getting more when one after the other doesn’t come back. I’ve had the same experience with bluebeard. I love them, but they don’t love zone 5. I hope breeders will eventually come up with some that are more reliable here.

Magenta!! My favorite girlhood color in the giant flip-top box of crayons. I still love it! Especially in flowers that attract butterflies. Oh goodness.

That could replace that big honking light pink hibiscus somebody gave me that I don’t like. I used to have the Lady Baltimore hibiscus at our previous home and She was a beauty! Might just have to add this to my Wish List for 2010.

What a beautiful one that is! I don’t have good luck with these shrubs in my zone 5. I finally lost my last one in the gardening over last winter. Might have to give this one a shot though.

Hey Anna,

Indeed ‘Miss Ruby’ is a must have in the garden. Remember too, this compact plant works well in smaller gardens (for smaller still, check out the ‘Blue Chip’.)

In case you didn’t know, ‘Miss Ruby’ was named after Ruby McSwain in Sanford. ‘Miss Ruby’ was developed by Dr. Dennis (Denny) Werner, plant breeder at NCSU and former director of the JC Raulston Arboretum. In the 2008 Buddleja trials at the Royal Horticulture Society at Wisley (England), ‘Miss Ruby’ took first place by a wide margin – taking 17% of the votes of the 107 varieties tried.

Also a moderate seed setter, cutting back doesn’t keep you as busy as other Buddlejas will also lessening the weedy nature Buddleja have is some areas of North Carolina. H.
